Bazooka hoping for top six finish at Oulton Park

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Motorpoint Yamaha rider Loris Baz is gunning for a top six finish when the British Superbike’s roll into Oulton Park this bank holiday Monday.
Baz experienced mixed fortunes at Brands Hatch last weekend which saw him explode into 3rd position in race one eventually finishing 7th. A tyre problem in race two limited him to a 13th place finish.
18 year old Baz, the youngest rider in the MCE British Superbike Championship, believes he can improve on this at Oulton Park ‘’I want to get on the podium; we are fast enough to do this. I think for Oulton top six will be good. I’m 9th in the championship so that’s not so bad. I think if we can leave Oulton in the top six I will be plesed.’’
Team mate James Westmoreland will be hoping to get his season underway after his nerves left him with 2 DNF’s at Brands Hatch. James who is competing in his first season in British Superbikes crashed out of both races last Monday.

Light at the end of the tunnel with Pitt looking promising

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Andrew gave us some light, his ride in the second race from 15th on lap one shows he has the pace and he can race hard. Both guy’s made the day tough by not getting the best of starts, Snetterton is difficult to pass, to try and catch the front pack coming from that far back was never going to happen but he dug in and gave us some positives for Brands Hatch.

Dan puts himself under so much pressure by not getting away at the start, 21st on lap one is never going to turn into a good day! He has to make the most of his great pace through qualifying, he can do the lap times as long as he can get away.

Brands is the race we have been waiting for with Andrew, it will be his first weekend where he actually knows which way the track goes and he has had great success at World level there so with a little luck we can get a strong result for Motorpoint and Yamaha.

We’ll come back fighthing at Brands’

Monday, July 19th, 2010

I felt I had to push really hard to hang onto the guy’s in front, I struggled to get out of the slow corners and was trying to make up for lost ground and paid the penalty in the first race.

I have to get my starts sorted, both races were bad starts and I have to try and get through from the back, we have the pace of the front riders but a bad start puts me under so much pressure. I keep getting caught out.

Brands is one of my favourites so we will get our heads together and come back fighting at the next round.

Brands Hatch is where I’ll get stuck in

Monday, July 19th, 2010

A much more satisfying weekend for me, we worked with the bike and got it a lot better for race two, but coming from the third row was always going to be tough, if you don’t get away with the front guy’s it is so hard to get through. We did not get the best lap in qualifying so I was pleased to get through to 8th. It is not where we expect to be and I will be keen to get to Brands Hatch and get stuck into a circuit I know pretty well.

Tough weekend at Knockhill

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Boy was that a tough weekend for the whole team not just the riders. Trying to make sure you have everything covered in a race scenario like that is pressure from the off. Then throw in a couple of crashes, four re-starts and a severe weather warning of 50mph winds and you really have a nice relaxing Sunday!

I don’t know what to say. Both riders were in great form, both qualifying for the top ten shoot out and both well on the pace, then race day comes and it is turned upside down with a freak Scottish Hurricane blowing through.
